It is somewhat seldom to find someone who is both a class act and a very good musician, but
Buffalo should be thankful they have one (at least for now) in singer/songwriter Bob Z. He remains clear and goal-orientated, not
diluted and cocky with quasi-superstardom like some other songwriters from Buffalo I know. He is real, and so is his music. It is
powerful, visceral, and most of all, it is good. I’m serious, see for yourself. Whether with a band or by himself, Bob Z is a pure
songwriter.
He writes quality songs with strong twangy vocals and solid guitar work. Bob Z has a strong, commanding voice that is both soothing
and intriguing, and when paired with his excellent guitar abilities, you have a pretty complete musical package. Bob has nice chord
progressions, and can pluck and strum pretty well. 40 Inches is a good example of this. His vocals are somewhat intoxicating
through cleverly worded, melodic choruses and verses, while the guitar playing stays right on point. Television Radio is a clinic in
vocal acrobatics; much akin to the complexity of Jason Mraz’s Curbside Prophet, and Bob does it as well as I have seen. The Circuits
Below is the spotlight track of Bob Z’s musical repertoire. His prowess is really showcased with this track through smart,
introspective lyrics, coupled with his use of sincere, ballad-esque vocals and his solid hooky guitar. The Circuits Below should be
the track that will take this young talent to the next level, because all record exec’s need to hear is how personal and relate-able he
is. Bob also does an excellent, spot-on cover of Jimi Hendrix’s classic, All Along the Watchtower. It really is something to hear.
I should also mention that Bob Z was recently voted as a finalist for the Best Acoustic Act in the city, by the residents of Buffalo (Vote
for him here). Now that is really a credit to his perseverance and dedication to his craft and abilities. He has also graced stages in
Toronto,Rochester and many various establishments around Buffalo. Bob Z already has my vote as one of the top songwriters in the
area, and he also has my vote because he is a 100 percent blue and gold blooded Buffalo Sabres fan. Do something nice
for yourself for a change and listen to some of Bob Z’s music at www.myspace.com/bobz, or www.bobzmusic.com

A Brief Bio:
Since the age of 16, Bob Z has been a constant and original presence
on the Buffalo Music Scene. Starting out on the ever popular 'open
mic circuit', and eventually hosting his own for over a year, he
honed his craft in the best of all ways: Live.
After hosting the open mic, Bob decided it was time to expand his
horizons, and has packed over a hundred shows under his belt.
Playing from Toronto, Canada, To Rochester, NY , and tons of places
in Buffalo, he has achieved quite the name for himself. By the time
he was 19, he was receiving write-ups in college newspapers, and at
the young age of 20, he released his first full length album, entitled
'An Empty Glass of Morphine' (2003), an 11 track concept album.
In 2006, Bob was a finalist for the 'Western New York's Got Talent'
competition, the only one of the 10 finalist across the area to be a
musical finalist. In 2007, his biggest honor (so far) has come.
Artvoice, the leading independent
Newspaper in the entire Western New York Area, has named him a
finalist for: Artvoice: Best of Buffalo: Best Acoustic Act with the
likes of Ani Difranco and Brian Wheat.
Bob Z has had the pleasure to play with many of the best artists in
Western New York, including drummer Nick Mason (Named
Artvoice, Best Musician in Buffalo, 2006), Tim Baldwin, Heidi
Maria, and many, many more. The future looks bright for Bob, he is
currently recording his second full length album (Entitled: This
Plastic Life, due in Summer of 2009), a full slate of shows,
